Housekeeper Maid for Private Family
The Private Family Housekeepers and Maids are mainly responsible for household cleaning duties.
They generally follow an established schedule and must have a sound knowledge of cleaning and hygiene protocols, products and equipment.
A Private Family Housekeeper and Maid must have good organisational, management and delegation skills, and should be a good team player.
Depending on the property and Principal specifications, a Housekeeper may be required to carry out additional household duties, such as basic food preparation.
Housekeeper Maid for Private Family Responsibilities
A Full-Time Housekeeper or Live-In Housekeeper working for a private family is generally responsible for all daily cleaning, deep cleaning and laundry and ironing tasks.
Depending on the size of the property and Principal requirements, the Housekeepers may have one or more Maid staff to help with daily tasks.
The Housekeeper’s main responsibilities, but not limited to, are:
- Planning cleaning schedules and tasks for the entire property
- Carrying out periodical deep cleans, as well as daily cleaning, of the property
- Hoovering, sweeping, mopping and washing of floorboards, carpets and rugs
- Dusting and polishing
- Laundry and ironing
- Regular cleaning and changing of bed linen
- Writing up regular cleaning reports
- Ensuring upkeep of porcelain, crystal, gold and silverware (particularly if a butler or head housekeeper is not in charge)
- Maintaining an inventory of cleaning products and materials
- Flower arranging
- Overseeing stock and supply operations in regards to cleaning products and supplies
- Potential dinner service duties during big events
- Eventually Table Silver Service level
