The Private Governess must have at least 10 years of work experience in high profile residences.

Duties of the Private Governess Live-In

As a Private Governess Live-In, the role includes:

Private Governess – Front of House:

  • Supervising and managing of domestic staff;
  • Supervising and managing all family property;
  • Scheduling the cleaning of properties for family travel;
  • Preparing luggage and delivering and collecting it from the family properties;
  • Preparing property budgets;
  • Managing companies, suppliers, maintainers and contractors;
  • Making property payments in accordance with budgets and contracts;
  • Oversee property projects, refurbishments and construction, including liaising with architects and contractors;
  • Implementing property service programmes and engaging relevant service providers;
  • Assisting the family in the selection and recruitment of domestic staff, including contract drafting, supervision and implementation of payroll;
  • Liaise regularly with estate managers; develop and implement reporting schemes;
  • Develop and implement controls, policies and procedures for all staff;
  • High profile concierge services to assist guests;
  • Responsible for guest reception, guest relations and house staff relations
  • Planning meals and purchasing ingredients
  • Organising cupboards and implementing efficient storage systems
  • Checking and purchasing food and household supplies to maintain appropriate levels;
  • Experience in family-style Italian cuisine using healthy and fresh ingredients
  • Organisation and management of events, gala lunches and dinners for high profile guests
  • Organisation of transfers for guests;
  • Reservations for restaurants, theatres, cinemas, personal shoppers, sports and leisure activities;
  • Pets lovers.

Available to travel with the family in mountain, seaside and boat holiday residences.

Must be able to be flexible and manage last-minute changes. 

Must have excellent time management and organisational skills and be looking for a long-term position.

Must have highly professional and be able to use your own initiative and hit the ground running each day.

Must be punctual and reliable and have strong discretion and respect to family life; must manage the family privacy.

Location – Accommodation for the Private Governess

The family is based in near Novara. 

The Private Governess will be assigned a private independent accommodation within the property.

Work Time – Work Days

  • Monday – Saturday
  • Saturday afternoon and Sunday day-off
  • 2 Saturday afternoon and Sunday worked per months (day-off will be set during the work-week)
  • It is required that the rest must be enjoyed separately.
  • High flexibility is required
  • Maximum flexibility is a must for continuous duty without weekly rest periods.

Languages

The Private Governess must speak a good level of Italian.

Mandatory Requirements

Driving license, experience in driving, are mandatory.

Previous experience in high-level families and verifiable references is essential.

Work Start Date

The start date is not set, but the Private Governess is required to be available to start as soon as possible. 

Salary Offered and Benefit

  • Net monthly salary € 4,000
  • 13th month’s salary
